Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Practiz is used by colleges to run interview practice and assessment for their students. This policy explains what data the platform handles, why, and who controls it — written to be read, not skimmed past.
The college is in charge of its data
Practiz is provided to institutions. Your college decides who is enrolled, what is assessed, and how long records are kept within the platform's retention rules. Students: for questions about your data, your first stop is your college administrator; we support every request they route to us.
What we collect
- Account data — name, institutional email, roll number, department and batch year, provided by your college during onboarding.
- Interview data — your spoken answers are processed in real time to produce transcripts; transcripts, per-question verdicts, scores and integrity signals are stored so results remain auditable and appealable.
- Uploaded documents — syllabus PDFs uploaded by faculty, and project reports or resumes uploaded by students, used only to generate questions and run interviews.
- Usage data — basic product analytics (pages used, errors) to keep the platform working well.
How interview audio is handled
During a session, audio is streamed to speech-recognition and language providers solely to transcribe your answers and generate the interviewer's responses. Which providers are used is configured per deployment. Audio is processed for the running session; the durable record of an interview is its transcript and scores.
What we don't do
- We do not sell personal data. To anyone.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not share one college's data with another — tenant isolation is enforced at the database layer.
Retention
Detailed interview chat logs are kept "hot" for 90 days before archival. Account deletions are soft-deleted first, then purged on a defined schedule. Colleges can export their reports at any time.
Processors
We use a small set of infrastructure and AI providers (hosting, email delivery, speech recognition, language models, speech synthesis) strictly to operate the service. We are happy to share the current list with your institution on request.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data — through your college administrator or directly at hello@practiz.ai. We design our practices around the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, we'll note it here with a new date. Questions: hello@practiz.ai.
